Raleigh.
Otherwise known as The City of Oaks. We are In. Love.
Spencer and I had a fun filled weekend exploring Raleigh, Cary & surrounding smaller cities. We ate, we drank & one of us had their first medical school interview (!!!). One of us also walked around a beautiful campus with their backpack pretending to be 21 again. Who, me?
The good news; I easily located the only starbucks in town. One of us feels very confident with their interview and will know the outcome in a few weeks!
The bad news; Are you kidding? After the crazy storm system moving through the South this weekend (killing 19 people via tornado) there is not a lick of bad news to report.
Our first day was a record worthy fog from before we landed, that was a fun flight all the way into the next morning. That, however, did not stop us from enjoying a night out on the town. We went into Downtown Raleigh looking for a cool & laid back spot to eat… oh boy did we find it.
Whiskey Kitchen. The drinks were amazing, the food was even better & the dessert was out of this world. OUT OF THIS WORLD, PEOPLE.
If you find yourself in the Kitchen, Shoo Fly Pie. Do it.
After playing in the city for the night we drove into the country and found our sleepy little hotel. The people were sweet, the accents were strong & the amount of cotton fields brings happy tears to my eyes. When all was said and done, we decided that this sleepy little town would make a nice little home for us if need be.

The visibility when we landed in Raleigh was great, a whole 50 yards. Spencer decided I’m bad luck when it comes to weather while flying…. I swear, you have one little flight with a wanna-be tropical storm, and one little flight with incredibly dense fog and boom, you’re branded with bad luck weather girl for life. Rude.
A little black & white to slow your mind || ease into the back roads.
The beautiful Starbucks campus on a sunny & 65 day!
I hope y’all enjoyed this little picture tour, you can’t imagine how hard it was to snap these shots while holding my Venti Iced Carmel Macchiato from the mermaid queen herself.
– Let’s all raise our coffees to safe flights & no such thing as bad luck*
