It’s that time of year again, our annual family trip to Highlands, NC (!!!).
One by one we stagger up to the beautiful cabin my parents picked out and quickly claim our rooms & closets because all my ladies know how important the closets situation is.
The weather was fantastic & the hiking was worth every ounce of physical pain on the way up! Naturally no family vacation is complete without a little bickering here and there sorry mom & dad, but what are siblings for if you can’t rustle their feathers every once in a while?
We started a cooking challenge this year! Each couple was responsible for making a dinner & dessert at some point during the trip. The judges were my parents, my uncle & my aunt. They tried that whole “everyone did such a wonderful job” business but after a little arm twisting, you’re looking at the champs!!! Spencer’s chicken bacon pasta was a total hit & my blueberry quick cake was gone pretty much that night. Yes, everyone’s food was delicious & it really was a toss-up at the end of the night… but hey, someone had to win, haha.
The week together went by way too fast, but I’m sure that’s a good sign, right? Time flies when you’re having fun! Fun with my family is my favorite kind, especially when we’re celebrating our new engagement (!!!).
It’s a little hard to tell, but it started snowing during this picture at the top of the mountain!
Look at those little snowflakes in her hair!!
