Well, it all started with spicy sweet potato fries. We accidentally bought the spicy flavor, turns out we love it!
That got me thinking… a little spice never hurt anybody, right? I decided just about everything I make needs a little kick, starting with my turkey burgers!
This one is for all my peeps that have ever thought turkey burgers were “just too bland” to eat. I promise this recipe will make dreams come true!
You’ll need:
20 oz Ground Turkey
4 Jalapeños
1/2 Sweet Onion
1 tsp Pepper
1/2 tsp Garlic Salt
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Onion Powder
1/4 tsp Crushed Red Pepper
Chop the jalapeños & onions as finely as your patience will allow which for me sometimes is a little chunky.
Side Note- I always chop the jalapeños first so I have a large, clean space to make sure I don’t leave a single seed behind. I’m a seasoned spice girl, not a jalapeño seed spice girl and I’ll tell you what I want, what I really really want.
Add the ground turkey, jalapeños, onions & spices to a large mixing bowl. Use your hands -yes your hands- to combine and distribute all ingredients evenly.
Once that’s out of the way, make small patties just under 1 inch thick. The smaller patties cook faster which, in my opinion, retains more juiciness.
Now for the important part; have an extremely skilled griller grill up the patties. I’m just kidding, anyone can do it… but I’m almost positive that our delicious burgers are a direct result of Spencer’s Grill Master status.
Once the burgers are cooked to perfection (or at least to 160°) put them on a bun or eat them naked like we do…. turkey burgers make us feel healthy so we tend to make that the theme for our dinner.
Hope you enjoy!
